Our kitchen cabinets are almost all installed! I tried putting Emma in one of the drawers today of a freshly installed cabinet…and it turned out to be a great picture (yup, I’m a little biased, but, well, you know…look at how freakin’ cute she is!). As soon as I turn my back to a cabinet after installing it Wendy is right behind me loading it up with stuff.
The last shot is one of her playing in her favorite toy, a gift of my aunt and cousin, Joan and Susan. Thanks for that, ladies–Emma really, really loves it.

Life is good.

Our friend Chris visited a couple of weeks ago and brought her baby, Kate, over to meet us. Kate and Chris spent the day with Emma and Wendy and I think they had a lot of fun. Kate was born about a month earlier than Emma and this was our first time meeting her.
A good time was had by all.

Here is a shot from our downstairs hallway. Emma has a hat on that our good friend Robyn made for her. It’s such a beautiful collection of colors and it is so soft. As I work in my office I often get to see Wendy carrying Emma up the driveway from going out to get the mail and it always brings a big smile to my face. The usual scenario is that I run into the hallway and say something like, “Good Lord is that hat cute on her. Robyn knitted a winner!”
Robyn was also so, so helpful in the beginning with Emma. From breastfeeding to being someone to lean on in the early times of stress, she’s a star in our eyes.

Everyone loves pictures, and in today’s digital age there are many exciting things you can do. However, most everyone I know that isn’t involved with a computer on a day to day basis doesn’t really know how to manipulate their pictures on a computer. Also, there are a few tricks when sending pictures via email or uploading pictures to specific places on the Internet. Whether emailing pictures , uploading pictures to a web site, or dealing with pictures in some other digital way, I’ve written this tutorial to help you out.

I couldn’t resist putting this photo of Ashlyn and Emma up as well. Look at those big brown eyes on Ashlyn.
Adorable.

I finally finished cutting the kitchen drawers. It’s taken a while to get them done, partly due to Emma’s birth…but that’s a delay that was well worth it. Below are a couple of pictures of them freshly cut. They are only put together temporarily, just to double-check the fit. Tomorrow I’ll take them all apart, sand the insides quickly, put the finish on the insides, and then start gluing them together before sanding the outsides and finishing the outsides. Then it’ll be onto the doors or face frames, whatever I’m in the mood for.

I couldn’t resist putting these pictures up. She’s already mastered being a thief; yup, she’s stolen my heart.

And another one…

Finally, a blog for Wendy…just in time for Emma Louise, too.
And, speaking of Emma, here’s the first picture we took of her:
